Quality Engineer 4 (Job Number: 170835)


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Active member on cross functional teams

  • participates in MRBs

  • Develops, maintains, and reports dept. metrics

  • Evaluates adequacy of failure investigations and associated corrective and preventive actions.

  • Performs internal and external audits

  • Interacts with external and regulatory auditors.

  • Mentors

  • Proposes, plans and executes improvement projects

  • Develops/updates dept. procedures and other controlled documents.

  • Assists in decision making for MDRs, field corrections and recalls.

  • Leads dept. and cross-dept. projects

  • Assists in developing and implementing policies


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the basic knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  • Very proficient in validation methods & evaluation criteria

  • Advanced knowledge of design control, change control, QC, manufacturing & inventory processes

  • Advanced knowledge of QSR & ISO requirements.

  • Working knowledge of statistical principals of DOE, ANOVA, Cpk, etc.

  • Understanding of engineering drawings and symbols

  • Good knowledge of sampling plans

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires a BS and 8 years related experience or MS and 6 years or PhD and 4-6 years related experience in a scientific discipline or equivalent in engineering.

  • Advanced knowledge of scientific principles and concepts.
