Will work on test methods, some solidworks and DFEMA use. The engineering interns/Co-ops will support Sustaining R&D activities.
Specific duties will include :
R&D support on cross-functional teams on new products, design changes, process changes, design for manufacturability and product enhancements including related testing, tooling and fixtures.
Support product design by troubleshooting product, process and component issues at Costa Rica and at OEMs as required.
Develop solutions to design, process, and quality issues through the application of engineering principles, analysis, and empirical methods.
Model components and assemblies in Solidworks and create detailed drawings, completing stack-up as needed.
Support completion/update of Design History File Documentation per FDA requirements, CE requirements, and supporting new country launches as needed.
Maintain DFMEAs working with DA and other team members as required
In order to be considered for an opportunity at Hologic, students must possess the following:
Currently enrolled in Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree program & will have at least 1 semester left after internship
Achieved a 3.2/4.0 GPA or higher
Rising Junior or Senior
Major in: BioMedical, Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical
Obtaining course credit for the completion of the co-op assignment
Strong written & verbal communication skills
Strong organizational, problem solving & analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong independent judgment and leadership skills
Available for six months
