Job Summary

The Senior Manager / Director, PMO has overall responsibility for the Program Management Office (PMO) governance (Stage Gate) and technical development (Design Control) processes. The role will facilitate and optimize use of PMO resources and systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.

  • Enforce, maintain, and improve all governance (stage gate) and technical development (Design Control) processes, including updates in SOPs and its implementation.

  • Acts as key PMO contact to Core Team Leaders and Cost Center Managers for optimizing consolidated schedules, resource plans as well as providing value added tools and templates.

  • Act as primary contact during regulatory inspections

  • Manages the development, implementation, standardization, and training of New Product Development (NPD) systems, processes, tools/templates and activities in partnership with core team leaders, functional managers and executives.

  • Facilitate and standardize high quality Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), Voice of Customer, and Risk Assessments across all projects.

  • Promote continuous process improvement principles by proactively making recommendations to the organization to improve the NPD program management function and implement improvements.

  • Supervise team of employees that manage small to medium sized projects, sub-projects/teams or specific milestones for larger projects.


· BS Degree in Science or Engineering required

· MS, M.B.A or equivalent degree preferred

· PMP Certification desirable


· 12+ years of experience in Project Management leading development programs or relevant functional leadership roles that delivered commercially successful products which exceed customer and commercial expectations

· Experience leading large cross functional projects and teams

· Experience with ISO and FDA quality systems regulations and medical design and development cycles

· Experience managing direct reports and delegating assignments


· Expert in management of project risks

· Expert knowledge of Design Control procedures

· Advanced knowledge in Product Development or Project Management/Leadership

· Experience with ISO and FDA quality systems regulations and development cycles
