Electrical engineer is responsible for the testing and documentation of the electrical systems. Will define and write electrical system technical specifications and verifications for changes to existing product lines and communicate change order information to coworkers and managers in other departments. Must work within project timelines completing the selection, prototyping, testing and production release of the changes. Work interdepartmentally to develop optimal solutions. Knowledge of power electronics designs for laser applications using high voltage and current control with power devices (IGBT, MOSFET, etc.) is preferred. Medical device or laser experience is not required although relevant experience is always a plus.
Key Results Area:
Responsible for modifications to the design and implementationof circuit boards using analog, digital & power electronics circuitsfor high power medical lasers.
Responsible for the component selection, electricalmodifications and design verification of system level integration ofelectronic subsystems.
Hands on experience of PCB design using OrCADCapture for schematics and Allegro or Layout for PCB design, componentplacement, routing and guidelines
Knowledge of IEC/UL standards for medical device productdesign including isolation design, compliance and product safety.
Understanding of EN60601 requirements/constraintsfor PCB and system design
This position is 80% sustaining and 20% newdesign activities

Experience and Education Requirements :
Must have competence in PCB level design, documentation and production with an emphasis on power electronics, analog & digital electronics.
Product support experience of systems, sub-assemblies and circuit boards is required.
Experience developing medical devices in an ISO and FDA regulated environment is preferred.
5 – 8 years’ experience in a system design environment is required
